"Driving is a really important part of people's lives"

Megan shares her knowledge as an Occupational Therapist and encourages Seniors to have early conversations about driving with family.

- Driving is a really important
part of people's lives.

We access the community. We
do our jobs and our chores.

We visit family and friends

and to review our ability to drive,

doesn't mean it's the end of that journey.

It just means it might
be a little different.

It actually is looking at

how can we safely extend
people's driving future

and how can we do it safely
to ensure that they still get

to do what they want to do,

but do it in a way that
people are comfortable with.

As we all age, the body slows down,

so our reaction times are
gonna be a little bit slower.

That's a really good
opportunity to start talking

to people early about that

'cause it means that things can be done,

solutions can be found,

and that then extends the the
life of that person's driving,

which is really, really
important to get into it early.

Speak to your GP, have a
chat with family members.

Look at what's possible.
